18 Dollars Creates the Best Costume Ever
October 31, 2009
Quote of the Day: “Do you have any plastic baby dolls? I need eight to tape to myself.” (Asked to the Deals sales women)
Life Is Weird, Yet Wonderful (Or Maybe I Am Just Weird): I could not think of what to be for a Halloween party we had tonight, that is probably because I have not dressed up in forever. Then last night it came to me…Octomom (better than Kate Gosselin!). I realized I could duct tape on baby dolls to my body and it would be AMAZING! ….. It turned out even better than I expected. Black wig, big Angelina Jolie lips and Dollar Tree baby dolls can you ask for more? My favorite part was that as I walked places I would knock the doll heads into things…I may have mastered octomom’s parenting as well.

Romance?

Quote of the Day: “I think I died and went to grocery store heaven.” (Referring to the new Schnucks, a local chain grocery store in Des Peres…it is ridiculous. It has a cheese room!!!! A cheese room. It has a deli where they have screen telling you how long you have been waiting, and how much longer your wait is expected to be. There also multiple places to eat within the store…a grill and a little bar bistro. Oh…and wooden freezer cases….they are pretty. I could go on forever….so I will for a little longer. I was able to pull recipes from an interactive kiosk. (Caramel apple pork chops are now on the menu for this week.) It is amazing! Amazing!
Life Is Weird, Yet Wonderful (Or Maybe I Am Just Weird): So…Jim is out with the boys tonight. In turn, I decided I was going to try to come up with a romantic date night for tomorrow night. It is sad, but I decided to look online for some ideas. (Bad idea in hindsight!) The suggestions…painting each other portraits. Really? Is painting each others portraits really romantic? The site said it would help build intimacy and closeness. (I am not sure that Jim would feel closeness or romance when he looked at his stick figure painted in watercolors 0r he may question why I think he looks like a fruit bowl. (I can only draw stick people and fruit bowls.) Another suggestions was do a puzzle together, but no not just any puzzle, but a puzzle of each other. (I threw up a little in my mouth when I read this.) They actually want you to order a custom puzzle of a picture of each other and do it together. All I can say to that is corny and lame! Another suggestions…make t-shirts together. (I guess the artistically challenged cannot be romantic.) Let’s keep going… ride Segways together. (Because nothing says romance like a Segway? I actually thought it said a little more mall cop on patrol, but what do I know?) Here is a list of a few more: bocce ball, go to a car show, make candles, slide down a hill on ice blocks. In turn, tomorrow Jim and I will enjoy a day of puzzle putting together, followed by some candle making, ice block hill sliding, all while wearing our homemade t-shirts. We are the most romantic couple ever! (I hope I can fit in some bocce ball and a fall suggestion of apple cider making! Did I mention trap shooting was also a suggestion?))
Big Balls, Lots of Laughs, Lots of Caffeine
October 18, 2009
What a fun weekend…I am so tired, but it was great! The trip was awesome! We stopped in Columbia and remembered our college years. (Stephanie and I both went to Mizzou…we were there at the same time, but did not know each other. She says she would have not liked me then….I was way to chipper for her taste! I was pretty annoying!) Then onto Kansas City! Fun times in the plaza, loving the Power and Light District and showing off my hoop skills at the College Basketball experience….actually it was more of a lack of skills. (Dizzy girls cannot jump!) We played with some big balls, Stephanie loved her some goat cheese and hummus, and we sang a little Miley Cyrus, and drank lots of Starbucks! So much fun!!!! The weekend closed with Quest, a good small group time. being asked to be a bridesmaid in one of my best friend’s weddings, a nap and then a blog with pictures…enjoy!
Quote of the Day: “You just need to keep being awesome. Look in the mirror and tell yourself you are awesome. Say, I am Stephanie Haenchen and I am awesome… I truly am awesome. If you say it, it will stay true!” (Steph…it is so true!!!!)
Life Is Weird, Yet Wonderful (Or Maybe I Am Just Weird): Jim has spent the last five hours pretending to be a weather man. I think he may have missed his true calling! He is so weird….check out his blog.

I’m So Excited and I Just Can’t Hide It
October 15, 2009
I know I said I was going to find my funny and get back to blogging, but I just have lacked motivation. (Finding funny is a lot of work…I haven’t had a lot of energy left…especially after dance parties, and lip sync demonstrations.)
Quote of the Day: “Oh ducky underwear…you are back! I am so glad!”
Life Is Weird, Yet Wonderful (Or Maybe I Am Just Weird): I am so excited about tomorrow. Tomorrow afternoon I am going on a short trip with one of the coolest people in the world. … Stephanie Haenchen. We are going to spend a day and a half in Kansas City just hanging out. It is going to be so much fun! No plans….no itinerary…just fun! It is going to be wonderful! (I think Jim is pretty excited to have the house to himself as well. It will be nice for him to just be…leave dishes in the sink, leave clothes on the floor and pick his nose for hours on end with no one nagging. This trip is a gift to him!)
Lost Funny, Great Quote, Good Pics
October 4, 2009
I have not been blogging very much, because I feel like I have lost my funny. (Especially my written funny!) I am trying to find it and hope to come back full force this week. (Please” funny” come back to me! I need you!)
Quote of the Day: “It was nice to meet you Tim, next time we should have a three way.” (A great quote at a b-day party…he was referring to chili. Most people did not know this!)
Life Is Weird, Yet Wonderful (Or Maybe I Am Just Weird): A busy, but good weekend. We spent a day in Nashville (Friday-Saturday)…. Good music (I heart you Snow Patrol), good friends, and a good and busy Sunday. Pictures are better than words!
